Houston coworking space to donate office space to startups affected by COVID-19
A Houston-based commercial real estate company in the historic East Downtown District, is giving away free space to two startups who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The headquarters is currently accepting submissions from startups, founders, and entrepreneurs to be considered for free office space through Friday, October 2, with recipients set to be announced the week of October 5th. Founded in 2014 by brother and sister duo, Peter and Devin Licata, Headquarters provides flexible office space and suites to startups and young businesses in a variety of industries. HARVEST MOON GROUNDBREAKING IN SEALY, TEXAS
Although the lot had already been cleared and dirt was being moved to prepare for the pad, the owners of Harvest Moon Apartments held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony Friday to formally get the long-awaited project moving forward. Located at 1100 Highway 90 West across from the fire station, the 75-unit apartment complex has been in the works since 2016. “This has been a long road for us,” said owner Ravi Yerneni. “Since 2016 we’ve been talking about it. Finally, we said let’s do it.” Several city and other officials attended the event. Sealy ISD Superintendent Sheryl Moore said she was happy to see the apartments finally arrive because it will provide affordable housing for new teachers. Mayor Janice Whitehead said it was a pleasure to finally break ground on a much-needed project that has been in the planning stages for years. “I’m thrilled to begin this new phase in our community,” she said. The $7 million complex sits on 3.1 acres and should be complete in about a year. Indus Builders and Developers is the general contractor and Prosperity Bank is providing the funding.When complete, the complex will have 25 one-bedroom units, 42 two-bed units, and eight three-bed units.
